摘要: Abstract Heavy crude oils from Venezuelan Orinoco belt needs special and costly handling processes due to its high viscosity, sulfur metals content. Different biotechnological applications have been aimed improve these properties. However, emulsified systems not assessed increase the bioavailability of oil for microorganisms. In present study were evaluated changes induced in two extra heavy by bacterial consortium using water systems. For 5 day incubation period, larger detectable observed Boscan than Carabobo oil. The an initial boiling point, decrease light fractions content, as well a total sulfur. These mainly after treatment with consortia grown naphthalene. A 45 period treated naphthalene exhibited CH 2 3 groups partial loss lighter components. relevant change was found subsequent thermal treatment, it slight 550 °C+ residues; also important biodesulfurization under same conditions. Finally, shows that degradation emulsions is sensitive procedure. could depend on oil, consortium, culture medium, time temperature; implementation treatments.
