摘要: Providing drinking water with safe arsenic levels in Latin American (LA) countries (a total of 22 countries) is a major current challenge. Arsenic's presence has been neglected for many decades since it was first reported ~100 years ago Argentina. The source this region geogenic. So far, 15 LA countries. Arsenic concentrations have up to >200 fold (2000 μg/L) the WHO limit 10 μg/L. About 14 million people affected depend on contaminated characterized by >10 μg/L arsenic. Low-cost, easy use, efficient, and sustainable solutions are needed supply rural peri-urban population areas. In present study, >250 research articles published various emerging technologies used remediation areas critically reviewed. Special attention given adsorption methods. manuscript focuses providing insights into low cost emergent adsorbents an implementation potential America. Natural, modified synthetic decontamination were reviewed compared. Advantages disadvantages treatment methods summarized. Adsorbent selection criteria developed. Recommendations concerning aqueous removal also made.
