摘要: SPAtially Referenced Regressions On Watershed attributes (SPARROW) models were used to relate instream nutrient loads sources and factors influencing the transport of nutrients in Missouri River Basin. Agricultural inputs from fertilizer manure largest throughout a large part basin, although atmospheric urban important some areas. Sediment mobilized stream channels was source phosphorus medium larger streams. Irrigation on agricultural land estimated decrease nitrogen load reaching Mississippi by as much 17%, likely result increased anoxia denitrification soil zone. Approximately 16% 33% that would have otherwise reached retained reservoirs lakes basin. Nearly half total attenuation occurred eight water bodies. Unlike other major tributary basins, nearly entire leaving outlet Platte Kansas subbasins River. Most subbasin are upstream sources, whereas subbasin, most southeast where characteristics area proximity facilitate delivery
