摘要: The June 28, 1992, Mw 7.3 Landers earthquake occurred in the southeastern Mojave Desert, California. Over 10,000 aftershocks of were recorded by Caltech-USGS Southern California Seismic Network (SCSN) 1992. To investigate relationship between complexities crustal structure and variations seismicity, we have used a tomographic method to invert 145,098 P wave arrival times from 3740 1148 other events 60 permanent temporary SCSN stations. We determined detailed image with spatial resolution about 5 km relocated hypocenters obtained 3-D velocity model. results show correlation seismicity patterns tendency for regions rich be associated higher velocities. areas are considered strong brittle parts fault zone, which apt generate earthquakes. In contrast, low probably more ductile weaker, allowing aseismic slippage.
