摘要: ABSTRACT We examined beaver (Castor canadensis) pond dynamics and associated riparian bird communities, based on call-response surveys. Following water disappearance, abandoned ponds were invaded by grassy areas alder shrubs supported higher species numbers than nearby areas. detected a total of 49 species. At ponds, the mean number was 6.4, whereas it ranged between 2.4 3.1 for active rivers, lakes. Density deciduous graminoid cover, in positively to birds.
