摘要: Intraductal papillary-mucinous neoplasms of the pancreas seem to comprise various types, whose relationship ductal adenocarcinoma and mucinous noncystic carcinoma is unclear. We analyzed mucin immunophenotype DPC4/SMAD4 expression in intraductal neoplasms, carcinomas, carcinomas define features that may help distinguish between different types establish their other exocrine pancreas. A series 51 three (two with an component), 35 adenocarcinomas were screened immunohistochemically for MUC1, MUC2, MUC5, DPC4/SMAD4. All positive MUC5. Thirty-two abundantly expressed MUC2 but no (or only little) MUC1. The remaining showed either mainly MUC1 or focal expression. one negative MUC5 positive. DPC4 was not two a tubular invasion pattern. Twelve 23 can be divided into at least immunophenotypes. first largest group probably forms tumor entity. second seems related because its positivity absence very weak staining. third shows MUC1/MUC2 characterized by oncocytic histology.
