摘要: Background : Plantar pressure measurements are a useful screening tool to assess foot function and identify patients at risk of developing ulceration. The validity reliability PressureStat™ for measuring plantar pressures in with rheumatoid arthritis has not been addressed. Methods Bench testing placed the under loads throughout range reported (0-15.0 kg/cm2). outputs were digitised measure pixel density comparison calibration card. In clinical testing, simultaneous barefoot recorded from 10 using EMED-ST systems. Reliability was examined by four independent examiners kappa statistics. absolute peak values each mask region determined platform masking same manner real size printout. Findings all test conditions, exceeded on card, largest difference lower ranges. correcting scores 'background noise' (not suggested manufacturer) inverted improved these comparisons. Inter-observer between first second readings ranged 0.26 0.59, some evidence learning effect. Intra-observer 0.57, 0.51, 0.33 0.43 observers 1-4 respectively. Interpretation Pressure data obtained system bench RA is inaccurate, particularly grading taken found fair moderate intra inter-observer agreement suggesting that interpretation also imprecise.
