摘要: Serum and pancreatic juice carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) concentrations were studied in a group of 144 patients undergoing endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) with variety benign malignant biliary diseases. CEA was found to be poor diagnostic discriminating marker for disorders raised obstructive jaundice from various causes correlating serum alkaline phosphatase. A concentration greater than 106 mcg/l associated disease but did not distinguish lesions. Criteria derived volumes bicarbonate responses provided additional differentiation normal cancer pancreatitis. Pancreatic may have limited application where imaging techniques failed or are available study biochemistry is required before adequate criteria can established.
