摘要: Abstract A total inventory of density defined objects American lobster cuticle was obtained by using high resolution 3D Xray tomography, micro-computed-tomography. Through this relatively unbiased sampling approach several new were discovered in intermolt the carapace. Using free and open-source software outlines density-defined their locations space calculated allowing population parameters about these to be determined. Nearest neighbor distances between allowed interpretations structural relationships objects. Several organule types are recognized signatures. hierarchy distribution suggests they develop during sequential molts. New (stalactites, Bouligand spirals, basal granules) described as mineral structures with well morphological character, them descriptive names distributions. The three cuticular appear represent forms calcium carbonate deposition layers exocuticle, endocuticle membranous layer may provide signatures underlying epidermal cells.
