摘要: Streptozotocin (STZ)-induced diabetic animals are vulnerable to cold stress. Uncoupling proteins (UCPs) play an important role in regulating thermogenesis. We investigated the gene expressions of UCPs brown adipose tissue (BAT), white (WAT), liver and gastrocnemius muscle STZ-diabetic rats using Northern blot. UCP-1, -2 -3 mRNA BAT were all remarkably lower than those control rats. Both UCP-2 substantially elevated insulin treatment restored UCP normal levels. These results suggest that rats, overexpression UCP-3 skeletal provides a defense against hypothermogenesis caused by decreased BAT.
