摘要: The recently discovered uncoupling protein 3 (UCP3) is highly homologous to the mitochondrialinner membrane UCP1, which generates heat by respiratory chainfrom oxidative phosphorylation. thermogenic function of UCP1 protects against cold andregulates energy balance in rodents. We review vitro studies investigating uncouplingactivity UCP3 and vivo studies, address gene expression brown adiposetissue skeletal muscle under various metabolic conditions. data presented are, for themost, consistent with an role regulatory thermogenesis. alsodiscuss mediators regulation propose a potential intracellular fatty acidsin mechanism modulation. Finally, we hypothesize themetabolic adaptation mitochondria degradation acids.
