摘要: Purpose The lack of evidence on the disease burden has been an obstacle for decision-making introducing pneumococcal vaccines in Sri-Lanka. Hence, purpose this study is to determine incidence invasive among children under five-years age Sri-Lanka's Colombo district. Methods In a community-based study, using sample 2310 children, we identified syndromes associated with (pneumonia, meningitis, sepsis). estimates annual cumulative were derived by having applied proportions laboratory confirmed all-cause infection obtained from hospital-based bacterial sentinel surveillance and findings population parameters pneumonia sepsis based low-sensitive, culture confirmation adjusted correction factor. Results clinical sepsis) 1.3, 0.52, 0.39 per 100 respectively. estimate adjusted, was 206.3 100,000 while pneumonia, meningitis 147.9, 13.2 45.2 under-five children. Conclusion Reasonable could be population-based studies proportion generated surveillance. These may help informed introduction conjugated vaccine.
