摘要: The Archean (2.8 Ga) Banded Iron Formation (BIF) of the Bell Lake region Yellowknife greenstone belt, Canada is recrystallized to metamorphic assemblages amphibolite facies. This BIF characterized by centimetre-scale Fe-rich and Si-rich mesobands. In mesobands, thin layers magnetite microbands are developed in a quartz matrix. mesobands composed mainly Ca-amphibole (hornblende), Fe–Mg amphibole (grunerite), magnetite. foliation locally cuts across mesoband boundaries, indicating mesobanding was formed prior peak metamorphism. Variations mineral modal proportions between diagnostic depositional compositional differences beds. Micro-X-ray fluorescence imaging reveals differentiation within with segregation amphibole, incompatible element Mn concentrated at margins during amphibole-forming reactions.
