摘要: Overall, 173 tropical plants from 72 different families, collected the north-western and western regions of Puerto Rico, were screened for their molluscicidal properties against Biomphalaria glabrata, intermediate host Schistosoma mansoni. Six plant extracts effective at 50 ppm. The two most those leaves Didymopanax morototoni (Araliaceae) Mammea americana (Guttiferae), which, ppm, killed all snails after 24 h exposure a day recovery. Under same conditions, Furcraea tuberosa, Argemone mexicana Paullinia pinnata 50% that Solanum americanum 33%. (or active components or compounds based on them) may have potential as molluscides relatively cheap control human schistosomiasis.
