摘要: Fish oil, a rich source of omega-3 fatty acids, has never been used as the sole lipid in clinical practice for fear development essential acid deficiency, it lacks believed requisite levels linoleic acid, an omega-6 acid. The objectives this study were to establish biochemical standards fish oil fat and test hypothesis that contains adequate amounts acids prevent deficiency. Forty mice divided into 2 groups either pair fed or allowed eat ad libitum. In each group, 4 subgroups 5 1%, 5%, 10% diets by weight control soybean diet 9 weeks. Blood was collected at time points, analysis performed. Food intake status monitored. All but pair-fed 1% group gained weight, 5% showed highest caloric efficiency both libitum groups. Fatty profiles displayed clear appeared marginal, found enhances growth through higher efficiency. We established total requirement between 0.30% 0.56% dietary energy, approximately half conventionally This can presumably be attributed fact not only small amount also arachidonic which greater meet requirements.
