摘要: Congenital hyperinsulinism (CHI) is the most common cause of persistent hypoglycemia in infants and children. The pre-operative differentiation focal from diffuse forms extremely important management point view. current methods for are invasive. We report a patient with CHI where somatostatin receptor scintigraphy was used to diagnose but limited success. A preoperative 68 gallium DOTATOC-PET scan performed which revealed highly localized radiotracer uptake body pancreas. 80% pancreas including resected. clinical problems did not completely resolve after surgery. Histopathology hyperplastic islet cells at resected margin randomly throughout This case highlights use severe CHI. satellite foci that were missed may be either an inherent limitation Ga DOTATOC or underinterpretation due lack expertise. opens up new option using analogue localization patients
