摘要: Inhaled nitric oxide (NO) is an established treatment for persistent pulmonary hypertension of the newborn (1). NO can oxidize erythrocyte hemoglobin Fe(II) to Fe(III), however, and lead potentially toxic accumulation methemoglobin (MetHb) (2). Because MetHb fractions >5% toxicity, monitoring throughout therapy required.
