摘要: Over the past two decades, many articles have been published on entheseal changes (usually called ‘Musculoskeletal Stress Markers’) as activity markers in societies. Over-simplified methods and over-interpretation of activities generated strong critiques research results this area enquiry. While some significant improvements regarding recording systems for applied more recently, bioarchaeologists appear not yet to be fully aware multi-factorial aetiology these alterations. In article, we review anatomical clinical literature discuss difficulties associated with multiple factors leading their appearance human skeleton. Thus far, fibrocartilaginous entheses hold promise activity-related reconstruction than do fibrous ones, but relationships remain an active interest. Copyright © 2012 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
