摘要: The navel orangeworm is the primary insect pest of almonds in California, and egg traps are means monitoring this pest. A previous study found that current use 2-4 per 64 ha block usually not sufficient to provide management information specifically for block. In study, we compare data from large grids varied commercial almond orchards with trapping females males, objective finding a more cost-effective program using currently available attractants. proportion eggs was highly correlated mean trap, males trapped simultaneously at same location. Almond variety type bait used had little impact on relationship between number traps. Traps unharvested (mummy) eggs, suggesting abundance affected than competition mummies. Laboratory experiments comparing age-specific oviposition two-choice no-choice situations younger, fecund laid greater preferred substrate situation, but fecundity different substrates tests. These findings indicate provides stable indication phenology trap. We suggest similar could be obtained manner female trapping.
