摘要: This study considers cases where welding is used for the reinforcement, either alone or with cover plates. It covers rolled wide-flange shapes as to be reinforced, and loads are restrictied static loads. was found that reinforcement of steel colmuns by plates welded flanges normally improves column strength because combined effect additional material creation a favorable residual stress distribution. The deposit weld bead onto column's flange tips introduces more distribution resulting in marked improvement strength. These other findings discussed.
