Hospital acquired rotaviral gastroenteritis in a general paediatric unit

摘要: Between 1 October 1981 and 30 September 1982, 74 children with acute gastroenteritis were admitted to the paediatric wards at St Thomas' Hospital, a further 37 patients acquired while in hospital. Rotaviruses detected stools of 29 (39 per cent) community-acquired 22 (59 hospital-acquired infection. Although also bacterial stool pathogens, barrier nursing techniques apparently successful preventing spread these. The use virucidal agent for handwashing might be effective rotaviral infections.
