摘要: This work was carried out to evaluate what is the nitrate acquisition stage (nitrate uptake, xylem flux or assimilatory reduction) most influenced by presence of NaCl in cowpea. Twelve day-old seedlings were treated with 50 mM nutrient solution during four days and measurements under two contrasting environmental conditions: typical day (full sun) completely cloudy (cloudiness). The salinity affected more intensely sap than transpiration. Plants showed a strong decrease both uptake rate leaf reductase activity as full sun day. Transpiration reduced cloudiness while remained unchanged, salt-treated control. Moreover, less In addition, negatively accumulation roots, stems leaves only accumulation, control stressed plants. Salinity affects flux, compared reduction cowpea leaves.
