摘要: Physalis minima L. is reputed for having anticancer property. In this study, the chloroform extract of plant exhibited remarkable cytotoxic activities on NCI-H23 (human lung adenocarcinoma) cell line at dose- and time-dependent manners (after 24, 48 72 h incubation). Analysis cell-death mechanism demonstrated that exerted apoptotic programed death in cells with typical DNA fragmentation, which a biochemical hallmark apoptosis. Morphological observation using transmission electron microscope (TEM) also displayed characteristics treated cells, including clumping margination chromatins, followed by convolution nuclear budding to produce membrane-bound bodies. Different stages as well phosphatidylserine externalization were confirmed annexin V propidium iodide staining. Furthermore, acute exposure produced significant regulation c-myc, caspase-3 p53 mRNA expression line. Due its effect it strongly suggested could be further developed an drug.
