摘要: In this work a congestion level based optical burst assembly technique is proposed to be used in switching (OBS) networks. The effect of adaptive burstification duration (time threshold) and size threshold on the performance OBS channel scheduling analyzed under various traffic types. varies (adapts) time values virtual queues at nodes considering link levels. Loss rates links are represent levels arrange which incident with them. Three alternative size-time employed level. Under heavy traffic, smaller used. As becomes lighter, increased allow longer generation better utilization. Moreover, order make implementation simpler, only bursts mumin, SThshort, SThmedium, or STh long generated. network, well-known practical technique, namely Horizon, employed. results evaluated terms byte loss rate compared those obtained using static (nonadaptive) scheme. It observed that dramatically decreases overall while keeping end-to-end delay feasible range
