摘要: Abstract The majority of herds in Norway participate the national dairy herd recording system. For disease events, this involves transferring information registered on farm, using individual cow health cards (CHC), to central cattle database (CCD). Before data from such a database, validation with an aim describing quality should be performed, but is rarely done. In study, diagnostic events CHC and CCD 74 were compared. Events 2008 female minimum age 1 yr included (n=1,738). Discrepancies between 2 sources assessment evaluated agreement CCD, calculating completeness correctness for multivariable regression model (1/0). evaluation described concordance sources, whereas calculations depended reference source assumed more reliable. Completeness was defined as proportion that recorded therein. Correctness also CHC, same date code. up 87.5%, disagreement being caused by unreported (between 10 12% all events). regarded high, 0.87 0.88, excellent, 0.97 0.98. found 4 factors increased odds CCD. These occurring during 305-d lactation period; size 75 cows or less; event spring, summer, winter rather than autumn; lastly, code preprinted involving simple check mark opposed writing 3-digit high degree clustering within herd. conclusion, Norwegian are valid use epidemiologic research, having particular excellent correctness, it concern at least 10% missing. taken into consideration whenever used. Reasons discrepancies important aware any work aiming improve transfer farm databases.
