摘要: Publisher Summary This chapter focuses on the results and discussions concerning involvement of substance P (SP) in mediation deep somatic pain (from muscle, fascia, tendon, joint). SP-related events skeletal muscle spinal cord are addressed. The physiological function SP- calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP)-ir fibres that exhibited an increase numerical density is unknown. If effect present also nociceptors, sensations from inflamed could be due not only to increased discharge activity these endings but a recruitment active nociceptive endings. latter lead enhancement because spatial summation at first synapses cord. presents neurones had no mechanosensitive receptive fields (RFs) skin. No information available possible relationship between functional properties type SP effect. It likely, however, such exists, observed RF size or number RFs. Whether all react this way
