摘要: Abstract The entire envelope gene of a British HIV-1 isolate, GB8, was cloned, sequenced and aligned with those the reference strains MN, SF2 IIIB LAI . Three viruses (MN, , GB8) their recombinant gp120s, were then characterised using an extensive panel human positive sera mapped neutralising monoclonal antibodies (MAbs). Overall, GB8 env-gene translation product shares 84% homology strains. Across V3 region greater between MN (74.3–88.6%) than (63.9–66.7%). Accordingly, sensitive to V3-specific MAbs which neutralise resistant that neutralize In CD4 binding central MWQEVGKAMYAPPI conserved in all but N-terminus MN. raised against site whereas 3 4 tested. Human obtained from London-based cohort did not differentiate neutralisation assays, titres significantly lower at stages disease. These results show carries consensus-like loop is as representative circulating UK. To our knowledge, only isolate has been date.
