摘要: Postoperative haemodynamic evaluation was performed on 15 patients 7 to 14 years (mean, 11 years) after total intracardiac repair of Fallot's tetralogy. The average age the at time postoperative catheterization 20 (range 12 29) and they were all asymptomatic. Before operation severely cyanosed disabled 4 had mild cyanosis with anoxic spells. cardiac output right heart pressures measured rest 5 minutes submaximal exercise a bicycle ergometer. It shown that degree residual obstruction pulmonary outflow tract slight ventricular/pulmonary arterial systolic gradient (RV/PA gradient) exceeded mmHg (2-6 kPa) in only 3 patients. mean index 5-4 l min-1 m-2 which increased 8-3 during exercise. response either normal or supranormal In remaining patient marginally below range. Pulmonary valvular regurgitation present 8 but there no detectable difference function these compared competent valves. Six investigated also catheterizations 1 operation. results study show remarkably little change has occurred their status intervening years. Though are encouraging, further studies required determine eventual outcome RV pressure volume overload.
