摘要: Abstract Background The number of young, active patients undergoing hip arthroplasty continues to increase. purpose this study was evaluate femoral bone density over a 5-year period after in patients. Methods A total 96 (103 hips) with presymptomatic University California at Los Angeles (UCLA) score ≥6 who had (THA; 45 or surface replacement (SRA; 58 were prospectively enrolled. UCLA and Harris Hip Scores collected preoperatively postoperatively, dual energy X-ray absorptiometry scans performed 6 weeks, months, 1 year, 2 years, 5 years postoperatively. Bone analyzed for 7 traditional Gruen zones both groups neck the SRA group. ratios calculated change compared baseline. Results No differences present preoperative postoperative between THA cohorts ( P = .07-.7). In group, never returned baseline during (91.2% baseline), (94.8%), (97.3%), (89.2%). There no decreases mineral ratio group any interval. Femoral increased on lateral, tension side up postoperatively Conclusion Young, cementless fixation demonstrate reductions proximal femur 1, 2, time.
