Gene coding for a lens-specific protein, δ-crystallin, is transcribed in nonlens tissues of chicken embryos

摘要: Abstract The question of whether or not δ-crystallin gene (δ-gene) is transcribed in tissues chicken embryos other than lens was examined by Northern blot analysis, using cloned cDNA as a probe. δ-Crystallin mRNA detected neural retinas, brains, and limb buds 3.5-day-old embryos. However, the distribution δ-gene transcripts limited to only posthatched chickens. It indicated that ratio large RNA, probably precursor mature always much higher nonlens tissues.
