摘要: In general, politicians involved in scandals of various natures are punished by voters. Good-looking politicians, on the contrary, rewarded Almost fifty years empirical research has shown that ill-informed voters will use physical attractiveness candidates, as well readily-available information scandal allegations involving candidates running for office, a heuristic shortcut to determine their voting behaviour. This article represents first attempt link existing literature electoral effects with impact candidate attractiveness. Using data U.S. House Representatives elections between 1972 and 2012, we find mitigates negative involvement scandal; this implies attractive do get “break” when scandals. Of all type scandals, also largest moderating role if incumbent is embroiled sex scandal.
