摘要: The production of molecular hydrogen in the radiolysis high-density polyethylene, isotactic polypropylene (PP), poly(methyl-methacrylate) (PMMA), and polystyrene (PS) by y rays 5-20-MeV helium ions was investigated. Molecular is dominant gaseous product from these polymers, yields with are 3.3, 2.6, 0.24, 0.033 molecules per 100 eV energy absorbed for PP, PMMA, PS, respectively. decrease observed due to increased branching chemical nature groups on side chains. There an increase increasing linear transfer (LET) γ ions, but relative depends polymer type. With incident 5-MeV respective 4.6, 3.2, 0.62, 0.15 eV. LET may be changes kinetics precursors particle tracks. differences increases each polymers suggests that self-scavenging reactions important low particles.
