摘要: Organizing a functional neuronal network requires the precise wiring of connections. In order to find their correct targets, growth cones navigate through extracellular matrix guided by secreted and membrane-bound molecules slit, netrin, ephrin semaphorin families. Although many these axon guidance are able bind heparan sulfate proteoglycans, role proteoglycans in regulating cue function is only now beginning be understood. Recent developmental studies wide range model organisms have revealed crucial for as modulators key signaling pathways guidance. addition, emerging evidence indicates an essential chondroitin modifying semaphorins. It becoming increasingly clear that molecules, rather than just constituting structural scaffold, can critically influence development, may continue do so injured adult nervous system.
