摘要: Sera from acute primary Plasmodium falciparum patients in Sri Lanka were tested for the presence of antibodies against gamete antigens and their functional effects transmission blocking activity. Comparisons made with corresponding data a previous study sera Papua New Guinea where malaria is more highly endemic. Although prevalence anti-gamete two groups broadly similar, infectivity suppressive Lankan (56%) was less than (75%), suggesting that generation functionally effective requires prolonged exposure to multiple inoculations malaria. In there good correlation between antibody responses Pfs 230, known target antibodies. Among no strong found surface 230 nor 48/45 as detected by immunoprecipitation radio-iodinated proteins; however, intensity response IFA these sera. It possible therefore, identified include non-protein moieties may be targets infections P. falciparum.
