Experiences of Occupational Stress among Emergency Nurses at Private Hospitals in Bangkok, Thailand

摘要: Introduction: Occupational stress has negative effects on employee’s health and organizational productivity. Nurses in emergency department are more exposed to than nurses other departments. Aim: To explore nurses’ experiences of occupational departments private hospitals Bangkok, Thailand. Design: A descriptive qualitative design, with a deductive approach based the Job Demand-Control-Support model was used. Methods: Fifteen at two different were interviewed data analyzed using manifest content analysis. Results: Three main categories: “work context is an issue”, “consequences reactions stress”, “coping work including seven sub-categories emerged from Conclusion: The patients’ their relatives’ behaviors experienced as primary stressor hospital, addition excessive tasks. Other important stressors misunderstanding conflicts between care professionals, presumably related hierarchy power relations professions. Creating better working environment balance number patients would reduce workload stress, encourage ED stay profession ultimately maintain patient safety.
