摘要: In zero-dimensional semiconductor nanostructures with motion confined in all directions, electronic states are discrete. contrast, the spectrum of single-particle a quantum well or quantum-well wire is set subbands two- one-dimensional states, respectively. Each subband continuum states. Because for box discrete rather than continuum, understanding confinement effects these systems presents unique challenges not addressed wells and wires.
