摘要: We present a new method for the determination of structural parameters in biological membranes. Recording continuous scattering heavy-atom labeled membranes and applying elementary Fourier methods we obtain distribution alone. The details this are explored by developing simple model testing cases relevant to find that intensity is highly sensitive many key parameters. increased signal from labeling use an improved x-ray system make it possible record patterns dilute membrane suspensions. Thus these same environment where biochemical studies performed. Application made lipid bilayer membrane, dipalmitoyl phosphatidylcholine with UO2++ ions. determine precise distance between layers on either side as well width label each side. This permits estimation phosphate separation across single bilayers aqueous suspension.
