摘要: Genetic determinants for virulence factors of enteroinvasive Escherichia coli (EIEC) and Shigella spp., causative agents bacillary dysentery, reside on a 220 kilobase pair (kb) plasmid three chromosomal loci. DNA probes, 17 kb EcoRI 2.5 HindIII fragment, synthetic oligonucleotides derived from the nucleotide sequence several invasive genes specifically hybridize to regions in responsible properties these enteric bacteria. The fragment EIEC flexneri was determined. An oligonucleotide probe synthesized basis this that corresponds putative gene, hybridized only Sereny-positive strains used detect S. cells seeded foods. polymerase chain reaction amplify 760 base region using plasmids isolated bacteria lettuce with as template. amplified product identified by agarose gel electrophoresis, Southern hybridization sequencing.
