摘要: Abstract The propagation of pulses in unidirectionally coupled symmetric bistable elements is studied. speeds unstable traveling pulse waves a ring increase with width an exponential manner. This dispersion relation causes increases the duration transient propagating and noise-sustained pulses, which are qualitatively same as those reaction–diffusion–convection equation sigmoidal neurons. However, fronts depend on backward width. Properties transmission open chain then differ from above two systems qualitatively.
