摘要: Oxygen isotopic proxies of paleo-sea surface temperatures (SSTs) suggest that Maastrichtian (about 66 million years ago) tropical SSTs were lower than those today. They also demonstrate latitudinal SST gradients much the present. The low indicate meridional heat transport was greater or differences in balance radiation to and from sea less extreme during latest Cretaceous they are today, both conditions true. These findings challenge traditional interpretations “greenhouse” Late climates.
