摘要: Publisher Summary This chapter focuses on available information pertinent for understanding the mechanism of ion translocation and its relation to primary event in energy-coupling process. The mechanisms energy coupling, uncoupling, transport are intimately related, analogous may exist mitochondrial as well chloroplast bacterial membrane systems. discusses selected experiments field photophosphorylation provide a generalized scheme relationship between charge transfer coupling mammalian, green plant, energy-conserving summarizes present knowledge characteristics H+ mitochondria, submitochondrial particles (SMP), chloroplasts, photosynthetic bacteria their chromotophores. In general, can be driven by electron reactions, supported either substrate oxidation (mitochondria, SMP, grown dark) or light (chloroplasts light).
