摘要: Abstract The Bengal Depositional System is defined as the surface depositional environments and underlying sediment accumulation extending from alluvial, lacustrine paludal sediments of lower Ganges Brahmaputra Rivers, across Delta, Bangladesh continental shelf slope to including Fan. Together it one greatest accumulations in modern world, comparable volume great geological past. history formation started with Mesozoic breakup Eastern Gondwanaland, northward drift India, its collision southern margin Asia, rotation bending western Sunda Arc, penetration Indian mass into Asia. During this history, regional tectonics evolved sources provenance changed ultimate uplift Tibetan Plateau Himalayas.
