摘要: The protein kinase C (PKC) family consists of ten structurally related serine/threonine kinases. PKC isoforms are critical regulators cell proliferation and survival their expression or activity is altered in some human diseases, particularly cancer. development utilization isoform specific tools, including dominant inhibitory kinases, mouse models which have been disrupted, antisense/siRNA, has allowed studies to define isoform-specific functions the apoptotic pathway. From these approaches a pattern emerging conventional isoforms, PKα PKCβ atypical PKCs, PKCPKCι/λ Kζ appear be anti-apoptotic/pro-survival. novel isoform, PKCδ primarily pro-apoptotic, whereas PKCe most appears suppress apoptosis. identification both pro- anti-apoptotic suggests that may function as molecular sensors, promoting under favorable conditions, executing death abnormal damaged cells when needed. This chapter discusses what currently known about contribution apoptosis, how signal transduction by integrates with other promote inhibit
