摘要: Cancers of the skin are a very common type human malignancy, encompassing basal cell carcinoma, squamous and melanoma. Of three main types cancer, roles PKC isozymes in carcinoma have been most extensively studied due to agonist activity phorbol ester tumor promoters used mouse chemical carcinogenesis model. These studies identified with oncogenic (PKCe) or tumor-suppressive (PKCδ, PKCη) activities. The activation response UV radiation, etiological agent for cancers, has also implicated unique etiology. More recently, examining isozyme expression function malignant melanoma uncovered isozyme-specific changes these cancers as well. This chapter will summarize our current understanding well their normal keratinocyte melanocyte biology.
