摘要: Two new species of Moenkhausia, one from the rio Tapajos and other Xingu basins are described as apparently endemics Serra do Cachimbo. Both species, along with M. petymbuaba, share a distinct color pattern composed large conspicuous dark blotches on base body scales. Moenkhausia chlorophthalma, Treze de Maio, tributary to Curua (rio basin), is distinguished by presence proximal well delimited black area adipose fin green eye in life. plumbea headwaters tributaries Braco Norte, basin diagnosed longitudinal stripe across six branched pelvic-fin rays (vs. seven). Relationships discussed.
