摘要: Moenkhausia rubra, new species, is described from the upper rio Juruena, Tapajos basin, Mato Grosso, Brazil. The species distinguished its congeners, except M. hemigrammoidesand nigromarginata, by dark pigmentation on anteriormost rays of both dorsal and anal fins. rubrais aforementioned number branched anal-fin 17-20 (vs. 20-25), presence a blotch caudal peduncle extending to middle caudal-fin rays, absence longitudinal black zigzag stripes between rows scales body, other details coloration.
