摘要: Abstract Objective. To identify clinical, demographic, dispositional, and attitudinal variables associated with return for routine, annual transvaginal sonography (TVS) screening ovarian cancer. Methods. Asymptomatic, average to high risk, women ( n =585) participating in a free university-based cancer program completed baseline interview prior undergoing an initial TVS test. During the interview, demographic (age, education, partner status, race), clinical (family history of cancer), dispositional (optimism, health values), (perceptions personal risk effectiveness screening, intentions repeat routine discomfort during satisfaction process, cancer-specific distress) information was obtained. Return documented from records. Results. Results both multivariate proportional hazards logistic regression analyses indicated that stated test within next year strongest predictor screening. Possessing ≥12 years education also greater likelihood analyses. Conclusions. provide further support low as factor suboptimal participation highlight critical link between perform health-protective behavior subsequent performance suggest could be enhanced by eliciting intention well specific plan implementing this intention.
