摘要: The International Maritime Organization (IMO) Safety Committee's (MSC) subcommittee on fire protection (FP) has developed a test protocol for evaluating the extinguishing effectiveness and critical design parameters of fixed gaseous halon alternative systems. This paper is an evaluation based upon its in verifying agent distribution throughout protected space against typical maritime scenarios. testing described herein was conducted by U.S. Coast Guard as part their protocol. Four “halocarbon” agents (NAF-SIII, CEA-410, CEA-308 FM-200), one “inert” (Inergen), gas/powder mix (Envirogel), Halon 1301 baseline comparisons were evaluated with IMO Protocol found to represent reasonable basis However, results from are subject interpretation due lack definition end discharge time. four scenarios that make up can better meet respective objectives modifying reduce impact extinguishment variables other than uniform addition (e.g., oxygen depletion, localized high concentrations, flow velocities).
