摘要: Abstract Multi-cell columns are highly efficient energy absorbing components under axial compression. However, the experimental investigations and theoretical analyses for deformation modes mechanisms of them quite few. In this paper, crushing circular multi-cell studied experimentally, numerically theoretically. Circular with different sections axially compressed quasi-statically numerical carried out by nonlinear finite element code LS-DYNA to simulate experiments. The described absorption properties compared those simple tube. Theoretical models based on constituent method then proposed predict crush resistance specimens. predictions found be in a good agreement results.
