A STUDY ON PATIENTS’ AWARENESS, RECOGNITION MANAGEMENT AND PREVALENCE OF HYPOGLYCEMIC EPISODES IN TYPE 2 DIABETES MELLITUS IN A TERTIARY CARE HOSPITAL

摘要: Objective: To assess patients’ awareness on management of hypoglycemic episodes and analyzing the prevalence in patients with Type 2 diabetes mellitus. Methods: A prospective-observational comparative study was carried out for a period 6 months outpatient unit endocrinology general medicine department. Patients who had were classified into mild, moderate severe hypoglycemia respective to age, anti-diabetic therapy co-morbidities. Prevalence calculated using formula; antidiabetic compared ANOVA independent t-test. Results: Of 200 patients, (43%) male (57%) female patients. systemic hypertension (30%) more predominant than other co-morbid conditions. According (49.5%) oral agents (OHA’s), (16.5%) insulin (34.5%) both OHA’s. The value t (2.831) greater table (2.45) mean OHA (24.75) (8.25). (51%). Conclusion: results from this showed that number taking OHAs found experience SHT as condition be females elderly population.
